The last week has been a rough ride and very wet! But the people in Tennessee have been Absolutely beautiful!! Our team slept in the Confederate Memorial Cemetery in Hermitage, TN first night back on trail. A Marine in Lebanon was so kind to stop and offer board, he also set Johnny up with a farrier there. They took great care of our team!In Carthage Johnny met Mayor Sabra Hodge and Officer Tommy Profitt took him out to breakfast. The Lovell Family provided support for our team up in Cookeville and they were also able to rest up at Leland Parker's in Dry Valley for two nights. It was nice to be outta the weather, and put some groceries on the horses. All done out of love and kindness of heart, without prompt or question. Johnny made it through Monterey where someone gave him "fun" directions and he ended up North East on 164 instead of 70....a short trip outta the way at 3 miles an hour :) They did make good time, camped off of Muddy Pond Rd and made it into Crossville today, where Jerry Franklin and The Branding Iron found board for our team and bought Johnny a room. Johnny said first shower in 5 days felt absolutely amazing!!
After a long vacation playing in Nashville the roads were tight with little shoulder," hills and hollers", Johnny says. The weather was wet and rough, and they camped in more than one cemetery and sharing the love with plenty of ticks.... the Loving Beautiful people made it easier to bare. Yes, the story~ the ride is ALL about the people! Without YOU, Johnny's mission would be impossible. God Bless Each and Every One Of You! Words can not begin to express the extreme gratitude we all feel Huge Thanks from The Whole Cowboy For A Cure Team |
